Public Participation

Public participation, or public consultation as it's also known, is not an area of ‘nice to do’. Sometimes people consult because it’s about compliance, but actually when public participation is done well; it works on a really powerful level to deliver better decisions for organisations, their stakeholders and the public. We are never asked to do this when the choices are easy, and at times we are working to engage thousands of people in making decisions; from people who are right at the passionate edges of debates, to the voices in the middle. We work a lot at a government level where there is a legislative expectation to engage with the public, and at a commercial level there is also emerging global interest and potential. This is an exciting field, and we've invested in it. We are the only New Zealand based provider of recognised training in this area.

The Certificate Programme

At pattillo we offer the Certificate Programme which is run through three courses. While each course can be attended independently, on completion of all three courses, participants will attain IAP2 certification.
